3- Special case of cookies
3-1 Presentation of a cookie
A cookie is a text file useful for browsing websites, stored in a dedicated space on the hard drive of your device (computer, tablet, mobile phone or any other device optimised for the Internet) when you view online content or advertising. It is used to personalise pages by adapting them to your profile and contains data collected such as, depending on the case, your name, your email address, the time and day of connection, your computer’s operating system, the pages of websites visited, etc.
3-2 What are cookies used for?
Four types of cookies, serving the purposes described below, may be stored on your device when you visit our websites:
3-2-1 Technical cookies
These are necessary for browsing our site and accessing the various products and services. Technical cookies enable us to recognise you, notify you when you visit a particular page and thus improve your browsing experience: adapting the presentation of the site to your device’s display preferences (language used, display resolution), remembering passwords and other information relating to a form you have filled in on the site (registration or access to the Member Area). Technical cookies also enable security measures to be implemented (this is the case, for example, when you are asked to log in again to the Member Area after a certain period of time). We draw your attention to the fact that deleting technical cookies may impair your access to the site and/or the services offered.
3-2-2 Audience measurement cookies
These are issued by our technical service providers for the purpose of measuring the audience for the various content and sections of our site, in order to evaluate and better organise them. These Cookies also enable us, where necessary, to detect navigation problems and consequently improve the ergonomics of our services. These Cookies only produce anonymous statistics and traffic volumes, excluding any individual information.
3-2-3 ‘Social network’ cookies
These cookies allow you to share content from our websites with other people or to let other people know that you have viewed or given your opinion on content on one of our websites. This is particularly the case with the “share” and ‘like’ buttons on social networks such as Facebook or Twitter.
The social network providing such an application button may be able to identify you through this button, even if you have not used it when visiting our site. This type of application button may allow the social network concerned to track your browsing on our site, simply because your account with the social network concerned is activated on your device (open session) while you are browsing our site. We have no control over the process used by social networks to collect information about your browsing on our site and associate it with the personal data they hold.
We invite you to consult the privacy policies of these social networks to find out about the purposes of use, particularly advertising, of the browsing information they may collect through these application buttons. These privacy policies should enable you to exercise your choices with these social networks, in particular by configuring your user accounts for each of these networks.
3-3 Your choices and how to object to and delete cookies on our websites
By using our website, you consent to the use of the aforementioned cookies. However, you can choose at any time to disable all or some of the cookies, according to the various procedures described below.
You can also configure your browser to notify you when cookies are stored on your device and ask you to accept or reject them.
If your device is used by several people and if the same device has several browsers, we cannot guarantee that the services and advertisements intended for your device correspond to your own use of that device and not to that of another user of the device.
In any case, sharing the use of your device with other people and configuring your browser settings with regard to cookies is your free choice and your responsibility.
3-3-1 Refusing or deleting cookies via your browser software
This allows you to choose at any time to disable all or some cookies and/or configure your browser to notify you when cookies are stored on your device and ask you whether or not to accept them (on a case-by-case basis or in full). Disabling all cookies will not prevent you from using our site under normal conditions, as no cookies are essential to its functioning.
